Interact e-Transfer

Interac e-Transfer is a simple, convenient, and secure way to send and receive money directly from one bank account to another. All you need is access to online banking through a participating financial institution and you can send money to anyone with an email address and a bank account in Canada without sharing any personal or financial information. It’s a great alternative to cheques and cash.

When you send money using Interac e-Transfer, your money never actually travels by email. Email is only used to notify the recipient and to provide instructions on how to deposit the money. Your financial institution and your recipients financial institution transfer funds using established and secure banking procedures.

Here’s how it works:

• Sign-in to your online banking account at your Banks or Credit Unions website.
• Select bill payments and then Interac e-Transfer.
• Specify the amount for the payment. To determine this amount, look for the total amount owing, after taxes, on your invoice.
• Provide the name and e-mail address of the recipient:
  Name: Solujan Lawn Sprinklers Ltd.
  E-mail: pa*****@so*******************.ca
• In the message field, enter your invoice number and street address:
  Invoice #: 12345 (or enter “Installation Deposit”)
  Street Address: 123 Your Street, Your City
• Submit your transfer request and an e-mail notification will then be sent to us to collect the funds.
